Hillsborough Street Grand Reopening Celebration!

Live It Up! On Hillsborough Street... The time to celebrate the new and improved Hillsborough Street is just around the corner! On September 25th there will be a ribbon cutting ceremony at the Bell Tower with dignitaries, food, music and fun. The Festival will feature a variety of venues, such as the Pig-n-Pie Cook-Off, Alternative Fuel Vehicle Showcase, vendors and live music. Organic cuisine will be served up in an Iron Chef-styled competition. The Festival will also feature a children's playground with inflatables, face painting and a dunking booth just to name a few. Throughout the entire day there will be many stages providing live music for the bazaar atmosphere of ~100 tents showcasing green technologies, artists and community organizations. The effects of this Festival will radiate through the Raleigh community for years to come. Proceeds from the event will benefit student and community nonprofit organizations focused on renewable energy research, sustainable development and community improvement projects including: •Engineers Without Borders (EWB), •Junior Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), and the •Latta House Foundation (collecting donations) With the help of its Corporate Partners, vendors and individual donors, this Festival will continue to be a steadfast tradition benefiting the community for years to come.
